JOHNNY BENSON, NO. 10 VALVOLINE PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
THE CAR LOOKED PLENTY LOOSE IN FOUR ON THE FIRST LAP...HOW BIG DID YOUR EYES GET IN TURN FOUR? "Pretty big. You could tell by the second lap, couldn't you? It was pretty loose in four, but it was good everywhere else. One and two were really good - good enough that I thought that I could leave it on the floor through three and four. But, after I slid up, I knew I couldn't hold it there. But that was still a really good lap for the Valvoline Pontiac."

YOU'VE GOT A GOOD STARTING SPOT FOR SUNDAY... "Yeah. We really felt like we could qualify in the top 10. We did come down and test and we thought it went decent. Even though we were 15th on the [practice] sheet going into qualifying, [crew chief] James [Ince] was fairly confident. He said, 'Man, you can put it in the top 10. Just go.' That's what I did."

THIS PLACE IS AWFULLY FAST...DO YOU LIKE THIS PLACE? "Yeah, I like this place, but it is extremely fast. You've got to get yourself a comfortable, fast race car. But one thing that is nice about Atlanta is that if you start to lose grip in one groove, you can move to another because there are going to be three grooves as the race gets going. You've got options and I think that is what makes it fun to race here."

MARK GREEN, NO. 14 CONSECO PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
"I thought we ran a pretty good lap, but it seemed like a lot of people picked up a lot. We picked up four tenths, so we can't really be too disappointed with the run. The car drove good, the motor pulled good and I thought the driver hit his points good."

BOBBY LABONTE, NO. 18 INTERSTATE BATTERIES PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
YOU LOST A LOT OF PRACTICE TIME THIS MORNING...WHAT HAPPENED AND DID THAT HURT YOU TODAY? "We blew a motor, but it didn't matter. "We tested down here, but we didn't test any qualifying stuff. I guess if we had tested some qualifying stuff then we might have been better today."

KEN SCHRADER, NO 36 M&M'S PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
"That wasn't good. We ran what we ran in practice, but we made a few little changes and thought it would be a lot better. It just didn't help. I just thought I could get more out of it. We didn't make any drastic changes, so I don't know what the deal is."

TONY STEWART, NO. 20 HOME DEPOT PONTIAC GRAND PRIX:
"I'm pretty happy with that. I think that is the best we've qualified here in probably the last five times we've been here, so we'll take that."

YOU'VE HAD PLENTY OF BAD LUCK AT ATLANTA RECENTLY...ARE YOU DUE FOR A CHANGE IN FORTUNE? "I don't know. I'll just go run my race on Sunday like I always do. I don't worry about that stuff."
