Pontiac Racing Dover II chassis notes

No. 10
Valvoline Grand Prix driver Johnny Benson owns a pair of career-best second place finishes with this chassis - one of which he earned here at Dover last September. Benson, who is 10th in the Winston Cup points, posted his career-best 11th top 10 finish of the season at Richmond two weeks ago.

Conseco Pontiac driver Ron Hornaday comes to Dover hoping to piece a full race together and earn his second top 10 of the season. Hornaday showed flashes at Richmond two weeks ago, running in the top three early on in the event before posting a DNF. Hornaday is behind the wheel of the Grand Prix he ran at California Speedway on April 29, although it has been re-clipped and re-skinned since that 500-mile event.

Bobby Labonte is paying tribute to America and to race grand marshal Cal Ripken, Jr., with a special paint scheme this weekend as he goes after his second win of the season and second career win at Dover. Labonte is riding a string of three straight top 10 finishes and has four top 10s in his last five starts.

Home Depot Grand Prix driver Tony Stewart has posted three straight top seven finishes in the his last three starts, which began with a victory at Bristol in this car. In 11 starts at Dover and Bristol with this chassis, Stewart has three wins, seven top fives and eight top 10s and has led 1,115 of a possible 5,000 laps (22.3 percent). It is the only car he has ever run on the series' concrete tracks.

Eel River Racing driver Rick Mast looks for his seventh start in the No. 27 Grand Prix this weekend with the chassis that last competed in the Coke 600 in Dover. Mast, who is a former pole winner here at Dover, owns five career top 10s on the one-mile high-banked oval.

M&M's Grand Prix driver Ken Schrader is driving a car void of sponsor decals this weekend, as he and his teammates pay tribute to America. Schrader, who is a former Dover winner, is looking for his first top five finish of the 2001 season this weekend.
