On His Run
"That was pretty good. We made a few changes and they must have helped
out."
Did Your Test A Couple Weeks Back Help You Today?
"A little bit. I think we did everything at the test that we probably
didn't need to do, so we came back with a little different thought process.
We spent two day figuring out that we weren't quite as good as we needed to
be, so we had to come back with something a little different. For that
reason, it helped us because otherwise we would have come back with the
thought process that we had during the test, which wasn't all that bad, but
it wasn't as good as we needed to be."
How Do You Feel About Sunday?
"Not too bad. Now that we've got a good starting spot I think we'll be
pretty fair."

On Picking Up So Much From Lap One To Lap Two
"I screwed up the first lap. I just missed my marks, so I knew I had to hit
her the second lap.
Did You Expect To Qualify That Well?
"These guys have changed everything on this car today. We unloaded at like
42nd or 43rd quickest, and it was a long day. We made a lot of changes. We
were shooting for 15th when we qualified and thought that would be solid."
Ron Hornaday, No. 14 Conseco Pontiac Grand Prix:
On His Day
"I can't tell you. I don't know what is going on. We were looking at the
RPM. We thought we would put some more gear in to qualify and it looks like
it slowed us down. I don't know if I'm just whoaing the car up too much
getting in or what. But the times are so close here at Bristol, we're still
scratching our heads."
Johnny Benson, No. 10 Valvoline Pontiac Grand Prix:
On His Lap
"Well, we won't go home, but that isn't any good. We really didn't want to
be on the backstretch again like we were last spring, but I guess that's
what we'll have to deal with now. We'll see. Anything can happen."
Kenny Wallace, No. 27 Eel River Racing Pontiac Grand Prix:
On Slowing Down A Bit From Practice To Qualifying
"My car was tighter. We changed some air pressures and maybe we shouldn't
have done that. We went a tenth [of a second] slower, so it's a little
disappointing. But, hey, Sunday is a long day. We'll see what we get out
of it."
