No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger News and Notes

* This Week's Charger... The No. 12 Penske Dodge team will use chassis PRS-570 during Saturday night's 400-mile short track showdown. PRS-570 was last raced in 2008 at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California where it finished in the 17th position.

* Come and See Me... Stremme will be signing autographs at the Penske Racing souvenir trailer on Saturday, April 2nd at 3:30 pm EST. The Penske Racing trailer is located behind the frontstretch at Richmond International Raceway.

* New Look... The No.12 Dodge Charger will have a new look for the Saturday night showdown at Richmond International Raceway. The car will sport a special paint scheme to help promote the up-coming theatrical release of "Star Trek." The movie hits theaters May 7, 2009. * Virginia Football Star... The No.12 Penske Dodge jackman, Bryan White, has close ties to Virginia. From 2001-2006 he played for the University of Virginia football team as a middle linebacker. In 2008, he hung up his helmet for good and moved to North Carolina to pursue a career in real estate, as well as competing in NASCAR's top series as a jackman for Penske Racing.

David Stremme on driving at Richmond International Raceway

"Richmond is a great track. It is a short track, but you don't have to root and gauge your way to the front. There are two racing grooves and plenty of room to pass. Richmond is a great place for the fans. It reminds me of the Saturday night races back home. You can feel the electricity and excitement from the fans.

"[Crew chief] Roy [McCauley] has been working hard on the car for Richmond. We have really improved every aspect of our program, and I credit it to all the teams at Penske Racing working collectively to make all three cars faster. The No. 12 team has been gaining ground every week and I feel like we are really coming together. The more seat time I have in the COT as well as with my guys the more confidence I get. We just need to keep making up ground every week and get into the top-12. I know we are capable of doing it we just have to not make mistakes."

Crew chief Roy McCauley on racing at Richmond International Raceway

"Richmond is a great place. It is a wide track so you can pass, unlike some of the other short tracks we go to. It is crucial to not use up the brakes early in the race as they are paramount. You carry a lot of speed into the corners and need to be able to get the car slowed, pointed and be able to get back on the gas early to have a competitive car. It is a great track for the fans as well as the competitors and I am looking forward to Saturday night."
