RAIN DELAY QUOTES

DALE JARRETT --88-- UPS Taurus

KIND OF A FRUSTRATING NIGHT? "Yeah, in a lot of ways. The biggest frustration is I don't have a very good race car right now. We're working on it. We made it better from the beginning, but we still can't get the front end to stick and that's gonna be a problem here. That's what you fight here most of the time anyway. I've got good forward bite, but I just can't get the front end to turn."

HOW WAS THE TRACK? "I was surprised. When we first started to get ready to go I said, 'Man, there's no way.' But they did a good job and everything was fine."

EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR CAR, YOU MIGHT HOLD THE RECORD FOR THE LONGEST LEAD IN NASCAR HISTORY IF THIS RAIN DOESN'T STOP AND WE HAVE TO COME BACK TOMORROW. "Yeah, wouldn't that be something. As far as our strategy, I think we were gonna stay out anyway. What I heard was that it was gonna rain for awhile and if we came in and got tires, and then if it rained all night, when we come out tomorrow I don't know if I'd want those same tires on. So, hopefully, it might work to our advantage."

MATT KENSETH --17-- DEWALT Power Tools Taurus

YOU'VE HAD ONE OF THE MORE INTERESTING NIGHTS ON THE TRACK SO FAR. "Yeah, the car is alright, but there's something wrong with the carburetor. The thing is stumbling off the corner every now and then. Our car is pretty fast, but I just sort of got messed up after that restart. I got by Junior and then the carburetor started stumbling off the corner and everybody got a run on me and it got all bunched up again. I thought I was clear getting in there and I really wasn't."

HOW WAS THE TRACK AT THE START? "It was great. The outside is slick, but the bottom is great. I think the outside will come in before the end of the race."
