NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Will Also Run May 3 at America's Premier Short Track

Richmond, VA (September 26, 2007)--NASCAR revealed its 2008 Sprint Cup Series schedule today and Richmond International Raceway officials are proud to announce that America's Premier Short Track will host the final race before The Chase for the championship for the fifth consecutive year. The 2008 Chevy Rock & Roll 400--scheduled for Saturday, September 6--will set the field for next year's Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.

"We are thrilled to host the final race before The Chase for the fifth consecutive season," said track president Doug Fritz. "Richmond International Raceway is a favorite among drivers, crew chiefs, teams, NASCAR insiders and fans across the world. By hosting the prestigious 26th race again in 2008, America's Premier Short Track further maintains its position as one of the best motorsports facilities in the world. Additionally, we are excited to again host the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series during the first weekend of May."

NASCAR's top national series will make its 2008 debut at Richmond International Raceway on Saturday, May 3, when The Crown Royal Presents The Your Name Here 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race runs "under the lights."

Tickets for the May NASCAR weekend at Richmond International Raceway will go on sale to the general public January 5, 2008. Existing ticket holders should keep an eye on their mailboxes for renewal and upgrade notices in the coming months.
