HARVICK ATTEMPTING SEVERAL RICHMOND INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY BENCHMARKS AT EMERSON RADIO 250

Richmond, VA (August 31, 2006)--When Kevin Harvick buckles in at Richmond International Raceway for the Emerson Radio 250 NASCAR Busch Series race on Friday, September 8, he will be looking to reach several impressive milestones at America's Premier Short Track. Harvick, who won the Circuit City 250 Presented by FUNAI in May 2006 and the Emerson Radio 250 in September 2005, will be looking to accomplish two rare feats.

By winning this year's Emerson Radio 250, Harvick would become only the second driver to win three consecutive NASCAR Busch Series races at Richmond International Raceway. Harry Gant completed the trifecta after winning three in a row from 1991 to 1992. Also, Harvick would become the fifth driver to sweep both NASCAR Busch Series races at Richmond International Raceway in one season. Butch Lindley (1982), Gant (1991), Mark Martin (1993) and Jimmy Spencer (2001) swept in previous years. Additionally, Harvick would tie Gant for second in all-time NASCAR Busch Series wins (four) at Richmond International Raceway, putting him only one behind Mark Martin.

"I usually run pretty well at Richmond International Raceway in the Cup car and the Busch car, and obviously the No. 21 team has done a great job with the Busch car this year," said Harvick. "Richmond is one of those tracks where you have to really be on top of your game every lap. Being able to win three in a row would be incredible."

Harvick's NASCAR Busch Series resume at Richmond International Raceway is impressive. In 11 starts, he has three wins, seven top-fives, eight top-10s and has claimed one pole. He hasn't finished worse than 12th in the past five years. The extra seat time on Friday night will most likely help Harvick for Saturday night's Chevy Rock & Roll 400--the last race before The Chase. Another good run would solidify his position as one of the 10 drivers eligible to win the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series championship.

The Emerson Radio 250 NASCAR Busch Series race is set for Friday, September 8 "under the lights." Harvick will join fellow NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Jamie McMurray, Clint Bowyer, J.J. Yeley and Reed Sorenson for a night of old-school short track action. They'll mix it up with all of the NASCAR Busch Series regulars. Tickets for Friday night include practice and Fas Mart Pole Qualifying for the sold-out Chevy Rock & Roll 400 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race. General admission seats are $35 (in advance) and $40 (on race day). Reserved seats are $45 (in advance) and $50 (on race day). Children 12 and under are admitted free in general admission sections with a ticketed adult. Please call 1-866-455-7223 or visit www.rir.com.
