Eight Toyota Camrys took part in the two-day test session at the Richmond International Raceway with the Car of Tomorrow (COT). Johnny Benson piloted the No. 46 Jeff Wyler Toyota Camry for Wyler Racing at the test session. Dave Blaney in the No. 22 Caterpillar Camry turned laps placing him in the top-five and top-10 in all four sessions. Benson also turned fast laps in the sessions placing him as high as second in today's morning session. Michael Waltrip in the No. 55 NAPA Camry placed his car in the top-10 in two of the four sessions.

ANDY GRAVES, Senior Manager for TRD (Toyota Racing Development) U.S.A. in NASCAR Nextel Cup Series competition:

How would you summarize this test session at Richmond? "This test session was another solid, targeted step forward for Toyota and their teams. With everyone attending this two-day test at Richmond, it has provided us with a lot of data that we will be able to take back to North Carolina and analyze as we prepare for this race as well as other COT races coming up. I know several of the teams have been working on improving the ability for their car to turn in the center of the corner and I feel like some progress has been made on that since we've been here. We've seen some great laps posted by Dave Blaney and the Bill Davis Racing team as well as by Johnny Benson in the Wyler Racing team. These are all positive steps forward and add to the information that we will be able to utilize in the coming weeks."

KEVIN HAMLIN, Crew Chief, No. 22 Caterpillar Toyota Camry, Bill Davis Racing:

How would you summarize this test session for your team? "It seems like we've learned more at this test than we have at the other COT tests. I suppose that every time we go test with one of these cars, we're going to learn more and more to be able to come up to speed quicker. Of course now we have a couple races under our belt so we know more about what we're fighting under race conditions. Overall it was a pretty good test for us. We didn't get to everything on our list, but we got to a lot of stuff. Whether it worked or didn't work, at least we tried it."

How difficult a transition will it be now to go to Texas after two COT races and this test? "We have to forget everything about this car when we go back to running the old car at Texas. The only thing we can use some of this information for will be Phoenix. We're still on the fence as to whether we will bring this car to Phoenix or save it and bring it back here and race it. Seeing that we don't have a huge inventory of these cars yet, we may not have too much of a choice."
