There wasn't a repeat of 2024's elimination race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval, as all playoff drivers passed post-race inspection on Sunday. Last year, Alex Bowman failed the post-race weight check, pushing him out of the playoffs and bringing Joey Logano back in. While there was a DQ this year as well, it didn't impact the playoff fight in any way.
The No. 35 23XI Racing Toyota of Riley Herbst was disqualified after faling the post-race weight checks. NASCAR is taking Herbst's car back down to the R&D Center for a full teardown, as well as the No. 41 Haas Factory Team Ford of Cole Custer.
Hersbt finished 30th in Sunday's NASCAR Cup, scoring seven points. The disqualification will put him back to 37th, giving him just one point for his efforts.
Erik Jones, Austin Dillon, Josh Bilicki, Cody Ware, Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, and Austin Cindric all move up a single position in the final running order.
Herbst had an eventful day, which included a run-in with Ty Dillon, which led to Herbst retaliating under caution. He also got into it with Busch, who wrecked Herbst at the exit of the frontstretch chicane.
Herbst is the first post-race Cup disqualification since Ryan Preece and Joey Logano at Talladega Superspeedway in April.
