Penske Purchase goes through
Admid alot of speculation about who was going to gain controlling interest of North Carolina Motor Speedway, Roger Penske comes out on top. Bruton Smith at one point said if the offer he gave wasn't considered that he would file a lawsuit. Turns out that the deal was done in the form of a trade. 60% of the stock in NCMS was traded for stock in Penske Motorsports. There is no idea what the ramifications will be to NASCAR and the 1998 NASCAR Schedule.
