ROUSH RACING QUOTES
Week of October 3, 2005

Topic: Now that Talladega is behind you, what is the next hurdle in The Chase?

Mark Martin, No. 6 Viagra? Ford Taurus:
"Well, I think the next hurdle is Kansas, because it's the next race. They all count the same and you just have to go out there and do your best to finish as high as you can and hope you avoid any bad luck like we had last week. Our goal this week has to be to get the best finish possible and that's all that we can do at any of these final seven races."

Greg Biffle, No. 16 Army National Guard Ford Taurus:
"Our next hurdle is obviously Martinsville. We don't have a great record there and it's been a difficult track for me as a driver. We are going there for a two-day test though soon and I'm hoping we get a good handle on what it's going to take to get around there."

Matt Kenseth, No. 17 DEWALT Ford Taurus:
"I don't know. I would normally say Martinsville because we don't usually run very well there, but I have to say that I'm also concerned about Charlotte. It was one of the best race tracks we went to - it was a fast speedway but drove like a short track. It had a lot of character. It had a few bumps. You could always pass if you were faster than somebody - always. You could always get around somebody and I thought it was one of the very best tracks on the circuit and now, from some of the things that I'm hearing from the testing there last week, it sounds like it's just one of the worst. Hopefully, they'll just bite the bullet and repave it and get it back the way it was. The new pavement at Richmond and Homestead was awesome. It came in the first year and it was great. They should probably just bite the bullet and pave it and start over. It would be a great track again."

Kurt Busch, No. 97 Sharpie Ford Taurus:
"We have to attack each of these racetracks for a win with where we are in the points, but I don't see any of these tracks as hurdles. Our concerns coming into these final 10 were Dover and Charlotte. Our Crown Royal Ford was awesome in Dover, but bad timing with a yellow flag cost us a shot at the win. Our IRWIN Ford for Charlotte is a good car, and we tested there last month. But with seven races to go we're looking at the big picture, and that is to attack these tracks each weekend."

Carl Edwards, No. 99 Office Depot Ford Taurus & No. 60 Charter Communications Ford Taurus:
"For myself and the No. 99 team I would say Martinsville. We have not run well at the short tracks but we continue to improve every time we go. We are testing there so I think that will help. I think Martinsville will definitely be a challenge for us but I think all of us are up for it and I'm hoping we can surprise a lot of folks with our finish."
