The CJM Racing team accomplished their mission this weekend in the Dodge/Save Mart 350 at the Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, Calif. Driver David Gilliland qualified the No. 72 Dutch Quality Stone Dodge in the 31st position, the first time the Bryan and Tony Mullet owned entry had qualified for a NASCAR NEXTEL Cup event.

"We accomplished exactly what we came here to do," sounded Gilliland. "We made the race, we finished the race and the car is in one piece. Hopefully this will give the guys some momentum and help jumpstart this new team. They are going about building this the right way and I see them enjoying success in the future."

From the drop of the green flag it was evident that the car was not as balanced as the team would have liked. A tight condition made it difficult for Gilliland to make any moves on the cars in front of him. It was a problem that would last for the entire race.

"The car just would not turn," said Gilliland. "We lost a lap trying to fix it, but we got it back. It was still tight."

"We ended the race two laps down, but it was a great experience for everyone on this team. I think I gave some good feedback so CJM Racing can come back even more prepared. I got some seat time in these heavier cars and that should help me at Mexico City and Watkins Glen next year."

The next race for CJM Racing will be the Winn-Dixie 250 presented by PepsiCo at the Daytona International Speedway. Kertus Davis will be behind the wheel of the No. 72 entry.

On Thursday Gilliland was at the California State Capitol in Sacramento as a guest of Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa. The State Assembly proclaimed this weekend, "NASCAR Weekend" in Sonoma, California.

On Friday Gilliland was a part of the Raybestos Rookie press conference in the Comcast Media Center at the Infineon Raceway. He filled the requests of ten reporters while there. Gilliland also fielded questions outside the No. 72 hauler during the time normally designated for the top-10 in NEXTEL Cup points. Gilliland was also a guest of Trackside Live at the Speed Channel stage at the Infineon Raceway.
