WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (Aug. 10, 2000) Trans Am SCCA points leader Brian Simo will drive the No. 90 Hills Bros, Coffee Ford in this weekend's Global Crossing @ The Glen NASCAR Winston Cup Series race at Watkins Glen International. Hut Stricklin, who piloted the car to a 14th-place finish last week at the Brickyard 400, will serve as the team's crew chief this weekend, Donlavey said Thursday. Stricklin has experience as a crew chief, but not on a regular basis since his stint with Triad Motorsports.

Donlavey said he made the decision to hire Simo for the road-course event at Watkins Glen before Stricklin's run last week at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

"I'm really happy for the team's finish at The Brickyard," Simo said. "That was great. They've been working hard and they certainly have a bright future if Hut continues to drive. I'm looking forward to working with Hut to continue the momentum at Watkins Glen."
