DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 25, 2006) -- Looking to ride the momentum of his weekend sweep at Phoenix International Raceway, Kevin Harvick (No. 29 GM Goodwrench/Reese's Chevrolet) will make his next stop at a track where he has been a model of consistency, despite having never won there.

Heading to Talladega Superspeedway, Harvick has posted top-15 finishes in his last six races there. While Harvick may be looking for his first trip to Victory Lane at a restrictor-plate race as he enters this Sunday's Aaron's 499, one likes his chances of running near the front.

Harvick, who pulled away from the field over the last 10 laps to win last Saturday night at Phoenix, has climbed from 23rd to eighth in the point standings over the last four races, a stretch that has seen him post four consecutive top-10 finishes. Harvick now has six NASCAR NEXTEL Cup career victories. He also won the NASCAR Busch Series race last Friday night at PIR and holds a commanding 279 point lead in the NASCAR Busch Series standings.

Harvick headlines a trio of drivers who are leading the resurgence for the Richard Childress Racing team in 2006. Rookie Clint Bowyer (No. 07 Jack Daniel's Chevrolet) finished fifth last Saturday, while Jeff Burton (No. 31 Cingular Wireless Chevrolet) placed ninth, giving the RCR team three top-10 finishers. Additionally, Bowyer has moved to 12th in the standings, just 35 points out of the 10th spot, while Burton has improved to 13th. The trio has combined for 11 top-10 finishes through the season's first eight races.

As a team owner, Childress has enjoyed considerable success at Talladega's 2.66 mile tri-oval, NASCAR's longest race track. Dale Earnhardt won there nine times while competing for RCR, giving Childress the most victories of any owner at Talladega.

Harvick has done everything except win during his last six appearances at Talladega. He has three top-five performances during that stretch, finishing second to Michael Waltrip (No. 55 NAPA Auto Parts Dodge) in April 2003; third to Dale Earnhardt Jr., (No. 8 Budweiser Chevrolet) in April 2004; and second to Jeff Gordon (No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet) in October 2004.
