* In a very unique sponsorship partnership, Texas-native Bobby Labonte will have Texas Governor Rick Perry riding as co-pilot on-board the No. 71 Chevrolet this weekend as the Governor's re-election campaign, "Texans for Rick Perry" sponsor the car.
* The Samsung Mobile 500 will mark Labonte's 19th start at Texas Motor Speedway where he's scored three top-5's and five top-10's.
* This No. 71 Chevrolet Impala SS, chassis number 282, was last on-track at Atlanta Motor Speedway and saw track action in the NASCAR test at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Behind the Wheel with Bobby Labonte
"I always look forward to going back to Texas because that's where I grew up and I've still got a lot of friends and family there. This time it's really special because I've got the Governor of Texas on the car, so it gives me an even bigger reason to be able to connect to all of the fans and my fellow Texans."
"I was lucky enough to be a part of the groundbreaking ceremony for the track and I'm hoping that history is going to help me out when it comes to the competition on Sunday. I enjoy racing here, and I've had some success, so I'm ready to improve on those results and really bring home a solid finish."
From the Box -- Doug Randolph
"I'm really looking forward to going to Texas. It's a big weekend for the TRG Motorsports team, since this is Bobby's home track and we've got the Governor on the car with us, and Bobby usually does well on this 1.5-mile layout. Texas produces a lot of great racing, and the fans always come out strong, so it should be a great weekend for us."
From the Owner -- Kevin Buckler
"Having Governor Perry join with TRG Motorsports to spearhead his re-election campaign on the No. 71 could not be more exciting. It's unique and out of the box sponsorship opportunities, like this, that makes TRG different from other teams. The Governor's campaign has already seen a huge increase in support since we've announced this sponsorship and that proves that a partnership with the right NASCAR team really is effective."
