KURT BUSCH (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger)
"That's really baffling. We didn't change much of anything from practice to qualifying and slowed down about 25-hundreths (of a second) on the stopwatch. We had a pretty good-handling Miller Lite Dodge in practice, but when we were out there making our lap, the car was just bouncing around too much and was pushing bad in the corners. If we didn't change much and dropped off like that and so did guys like Mark (Martin, fastest in practice), the track must have changed a lot. With no cars running laps out there after our practice, it has us scratching our heads."

KASEY KAHNE (No. 9 Budweiser Dodge Charger)
"Our lap was pretty good. It was a big improvement for our Budweiser Dodge Charger from practice earlier today. I just got a little bit tight in the center of both corners and I had to wait a little bit longer than I'd like to get back in the throttle. It felt pretty good. I was pleased."
***
DAVID STREMME (No. 12 Penske Dodge Charger)
'I don't understand. We were good in practice in qualifying trim and didn't change much. The car felt good. I don't know what the deal is. I thought we would qualify a lot better than that. I know we have a good race car. It's just disappointing; we need to qualify better."

AJ ALLMENDINGER (No. 44 Super 8 Dodge Charger)
HOW LONG ARE YOU SECURE IN THIS RIDE? "Maybe as long as we keep running well. Right now, we're good through the 600 (Coca-Cola 600). We had five more races just added. That's a good thing. We've had great sponsors support us all year. This weekend, we've got two great motels. All I can do is go out there and run the wheels off it and try to keep this Dodge up front every weekend. As long as we do that, I hope everything else takes care of itself."

ELLIOTT SADLER (No. 19 Best Buy Dodge Charger)
"I'm a little surprised by the lap that we put down. We were decent in race trim earlier today. We weren't very good in qualifying trim. We'll have to work our way up from the back, that's the best that we can do. We had a tire rub on the left rear tire on our qualifying lap. We we're definitely missing on something."

SAM HORNISH JR. (No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge Charger)
"It wasn't as fast as I thought we could be. I told my guys I didn't know what we could have done to go quicker. The car handled pretty well. It seemed like we were lacking a little bit of speed maybe on the straightaway. I felt really good about the car in practice today as far as our race-run stuff. We'll take whatever we get out of this; I feel that we've got a really good racecar.
YOU'VE BEEN SUCCESSFUL HERE IN AN OPEN-WHEEL CAR; HOW MUCH OF WHAT YOU LEARNED THERE HAS CARRIED OVER TO STOCK CARS? Not hardly anything except going to the track and saying, 'well I figured out how to get around here in Indy Car, hopefully I can do the same thing in a stock car'. The way we had to race in Indy Car, it's a lot like the restrictor plate races for these cars. This is definitely more braking, more of a handling deal than what we had over there. So, it's a lot different as far as how you actually drive the race car. I love coming to Texas. Eddie Gossage and all the people here have been great. I love coming here in the spring, but even more now in the fall because of the bowling tournament (Sam Hornish Jr. Celebrity Bowling Tournament). We raised about $100,000 for Speedway Children's Charities and I think we can do better this year."
