CARL EDWARDS -- No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion

ON THE RACE FOR THE BUSCH CHAMPIONSHIP. "We're barely hanging on for the Busch championship title. We've had amazing luck all year, it's just been getting bad lately. But we're still having fun over there. We just need to get some good finishes."

ON THE LAST THREE CUP RACES. "I feel like we've got a great car for the last three races. I wasn't sure about this one, but practice went really well. In race trim, we're real good. You don't really know, coming to these big places. There's not much you can do if the car is off, but I feel like our car is pretty good. I think that Phoenix is going to be good. Our car of tomorrow program has been good. And Homestead, hopefully we can run well there. You just never really know until you get there."

IS EXPERIENCE IN THE CHASE IMPORTANT? "I don't know how much chase experience has really proven to be key. I mean, Clint Bowyer is doing a great job, and he doesn't have any. Honestly, the way the sport is right now, it matters how that car is when you bring it to the race track. If you unload and it's fast, you're going to have a good weekend. If you don't, it's going to be a struggle. That's the key right now, is making sure all the stuff at the shop is done, and my guys at the shop have been doing a pretty good job with that, but nobody's doing a better job than those front two guys."

HOW WAS YOUR CAR OF TOMORROW TEST AT ATLANTA? "The COT test was all right. It was good to get to test right after we ran the regular car. Our car wasn't quite as fast as I would've liked. We still have a lot of work to do. We've got two more tests, I think, at superspeedways before we go race at one, so it'll be all right."

WHAT IS YOUR OVERALL IMPRESSION OF THE CAR OF TOMORROW THIS YEAR? "Overall, at the beginning of the year, I really hated the car of tomorrow, just because we weren't competitive with it. Now we seem to be competitive. I think we've kind of figured some things out and it's a lot more fun. Anything is fun to race if you're running well."

WHAT ABOUT THE CAR OF TOMORROW, AND NEXT YEAR? "I think right now we've got a good program, as far as the car of tomorrow. I'm a little nervous about next year, just like I'm sure everybody is, because you never know, we don't know what it's going to be like when we unload at Vegas, California, we don't really know how it's going to go. There's got to be somebody who's got it figured out and goes out and hauls the mail -- I hope it's us, we've been working really hard at it -- but it's just a pretty big unknown there."
