KBM'S FIRST WIN: Kyle Busch earned the first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) victory for Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM) at Nashville Superspeedway Friday night. He started the race from the pole -- the first NCWTS pole for KBM -- and led 131 (of 150) laps at the 1.33-mile Tennessee oval. It was Busch's first Nashville Truck victory , 17th NCWTS win of his career and the 67th Tundra triumph since Toyota joined the series in 2004. Timothy Peters (fourth), Todd Bodine (fifth), Mike Skinner (seventh) and Aric Almirola (eighth) also earned top-10 finishes for Toyota.
NASHVILLE NATIONWIDE NEWS: Five Camry drivers scored top-10 finishes in Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race at Nashville Superspeedway. Reed Sorenson (second) was the highest-finishing Toyota driver followed by Busch (third), Joey Logano (eighth), Michael Annett (ninth) and Brendan Gaughan (10th). Logano earned his ninth career series pole and the 33rd for Toyota since joining the series in 2007. He also led a race high 122 (of 225) laps. PAST PHOENIX TOP-10S: Camry drivers have combined for a dozen top-10 finishes in six NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) races at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR). Denny Hamlin has a current streak of four consecutive top-10 results at the one-mile Arizona oval, including no finish worse than sixth since Joe Gibbs Racing began racing Toyotas in 2008. Last year, David Reutimann earned a pair of top-10 finishes. In 2008, Busch also notched two top-10s at Phoenix.
DESERT DOMINOS: A handful of Camry drivers have had prior success at the one-mile race track located west of Phoenix. Current Camry driver Busch had a Cup Series victory at Phoenix in 2005 and a pole at the track in 2006. In only his sixth career start, Hamlin earned his first-ever NSCS pole at PIR in November 2005, and also has a total of five top-five finishes and six top-10s in nine starts at the one-mile oval. Martin Truex Jr. is the most recent pole-sitter at Phoenix having claimed the top starting spot in last year's November race.
NATIONWIDE PROCESSION: Toyota NNS drivers return to Phoenix where they have claimed a win and several top-10 results. Last year, three Camry drivers finished in the top-10 in November -- Sorenson (third), Mike Bliss (eighth) and Busch (ninth) while three more Toyotas finished in the top-10 in April -- Jason Leffler (second), Logano (fourth) and Busch (10th). In 2008, Busch was victorious from the pole position after leading 133 of 202 laps in the April NNS event. In November 2008, Hamlin (second) and Busch (fifth) secured top-five results, followed by Mike Wallace (ninth) and Logano (10th) in the top-10.
