Updated NASCAR Cup playoff standings after Kansas

Chase Elliott is going to the Round of 8 after a thrilling showdown at Kansas Speedway

Chase Elliott entered this race just 14 points above the cutline, but he leaves Kansas locked into the next round.

It was a wild race, and Bubba Wallace nearly won his way into the Round of 8, but a run-in with team owner Denny Hamlin on the final lap cleared a path for Elliott to take the win.

Joey Logano, who entered this race +24, leaves on the bubble and at +13 after being involved in a late-race restart pileup. His teammate Austin Cindric, who now faces a clear must-win, was collected in the same wreck.

Ross Chastain is the closest driver to Logano after finishing 11th in Sunday's race. He had entered the race 12 points behind Briscoe, who is now 21 points above the cutline. The top six drivers in the standings are all at least 40 points above the cutline, so they should feel comfortable this week.

The Round of 12 ends with next weekend's elimination race at the Charlotte Roval -- the final road course race of the 2025 NASCAR Cup season.
