"We had the opportunity to win this race here last fall, but we fell a little short. After dominating the end of the race, we had a late caution and that got us all bunched up again. I think we had close to a six-second lead over the rest of the field and definitely didn't need that caution. That gives us a good mark to shoot for this weekend." -Ward Burton, driver of the Caterpillar Racing Dodge

BURTON ON LAS VEGAS: "We had our fair share of struggles last weekend. We had a good qualifying run,but we never got a good handle on the car in race trim. We made a lot of changes to the car after Happy Hour, but we were still a little off when the race got going. When we started the race we were a little loose and Tommy adjusted for that, but we went to far. The changes made the car extremely tight and we eventually got ourselves close to the set-up we had in it at the start of the race. We got a little better, but never good enough to contend for the win."

BURTON ON ATLANTA: "We were in Atlanta last weekend testing, but the weather prevented us from having much of a test. I think we may have made six laps at the most. That definitely isn't going to help us at all this weekend. Even though we had a good car here last fall, I'm not sure if that will help us at all. With the switch to Dodge, it's hard to say of the set-ups will even be similar. Some things may transfer over and others may not, so we'll just have to wait and see. I sure hope we can have a strong run like we had last fall -- we definitely need it."

Ward Burton and the Caterpillar Racing team will race anew chassis this weekend in Atlanta. Burton has been fitted for the HANS device, but has no immediate plans for wearing the device. He is awaiting more information on the performance of the device.
