This Weekend's Cheerios/Hamburger Helper Chevrolet Impala at Watkins Glen International ... Clint Bowyer will pilot Chassis No. 300 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable. This is the same Chevrolet Impala Bowyer raced at Infineon Raceway in June. He started 22nd and raced his way into the top 10 before late-race contact, a broken part and a flat rear tire resulted in a less-than-desired 31st-place finish.

Watkins Glen Stats ... In five NSCS starts at The Glen, Bowyer has scored one top-10 finish which came last year when he finished ninth. The two-time NSCS race winner has completed all 360 laps contested and boasts a 15.5 average finish at the 11-turn, 2.45-mile road course.

Rearview Mirror ... Bowyer and the No. 33 Hartford Chevrolet team overcame a 40th-starting spot, late-race contact and varying pit strategies to finish 15th in last Sunday's Pennsylvania 500 at Pocono Raceway.

Five To Go ... With five races remaining before the 12-man Chase for the Sprint Cup field is set, Bowyer sits 12th in the NSCS point standings. The 31-year-old RCR driver is 34 markers ahead of Mark Martin in 13th and 88 points behind Greg Biffle in 11th.

Come Meet Clint ... The Cheerios Racing driver will participate in a supermarket sweep contest and sign autographs at Walmart, located at 515 East 4th Street, in Watkins Glen between 6 and 8 p.m. on Friday, August 6. Wristbands for the autograph session will distributed, on a first come first serve basis, beginning at 5 p.m.

CLINT BOWYER:

You had a much better car than where you finished at Infineon raceway in June. What is your outlook for The Glen?

"I think we're going to be better than we've been in years past. We had a good solid run last time with the ninth-place finish, the best we've ever been there before. I seem to struggle at Watkins Glen though. I've always run well at Sonoma, but have never been able to repeat those finishes at The Glen. Shane (Wilson, crew chief) gave me a great car last season and our finish felt like a win. I think we can build on that and have a better run this weekend."

Can you pin point why you struggle at The Glen?

"No, I really don't know why. I've ended up with a wrecked car there on more than one occasion. I feel like I'm, fine when we get up to speed, but then Shane Wilson will ask to get another two to three tenths of-a-second out of me when I'm already at 100 percent. That's when I struggle because we are usually better in the practice sessions. I try to get that little extra bit of speed to turn our 15th-place car into a fifth-place car. The speeds slow down so much on Sunday compared to how fast we are in practice. I have to not get caught up in the speeds we show in Friday and Saturday and worry more about what we have to do to get the best possible finish during the race. "

Do you think we'll see cars hitting each other and running off track in this race like we saw at Infineon?

"I don't think you'll see that as much because you can beat and bang on one another, but the speeds and the pace at The Glen are a lot slower. You'll see guys hitting one another, but it won't cause complete havoc. If you get to beating and banging each other at a place like Watkins Glen, with the slower speeds, you won't have any cars left at the end of the race."
