BACK IN THE SADDLE - Brian Ickler returns to the No. 16 Roush Fenway Racing Ford this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. This will be Ickler's fourth start in the No. 16 and fifth overall for Roush Fenway Racing. In his last turn behind the wheel of the No. 16, Ickler notched his first career Nationwide Series top-10 with a ninth-place finish at Daytona International Speedway.
ICKLER AT BRISTOL - Ickler will make his track debut this weekend in the Food City 250. However, in four short-track starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Ickler grabbed a top-five with a third-place finish at Martinsville.
NO. 16 TEAM MAKING STRIDES - With the ninth-place finish last weekend at Michigan International Speedway by Colin Braun, the No. 16 team moved back into the 16th spot in the owner's championship point standings, just 48 points out of 15th. Since coming on board with the No.16 team in June, crew chief Rick Viers made a team goal to reach the 15th spot or higher before the season's end.
ROUSH FENWAY RACING AT BRISTOL - In 52 Nationwide Series starts at Bristol Motor Speedway, Roush Fenway Racing has five wins, 19 top-fives, 24 top-10s, three pole awards and 1328 laps led. The wins were notched by Mark Martin, Jeff Burton, Matt Kenseth, Carl Edwards, and most recently, David Ragan.
BRISTOL CHASSIS SELECTION - Crew chief Rick Viers has selected RK-356 for this weekend's Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway. This car has seen a lot of action this year and was last run at Chicagoland Speedway in July where Colin Braun finished 17th. Chassis 356 was also raced at Bristol earlier in the season where Braun was involved in a fiery crash with the No. 66 of Steven Wallace.
Ickler, on making his track debut at Bristol: "I'm really excited to get back in the No. 16 this weekend at Bristol. It's great to know that I'm going to have great equipment and a solid team behind me in my first start at this very challenging track. I've obviously done short track racing in the Truck Series and ARCA, but Bristol is a place that has a personality all of its own. I really enjoyed working with Rick [Viers] in Daytona and we were able to get a really great finish in that new Mustang. I'm hopeful we can do that again and keep this team headed in the right direction in the point standings."
Crew chief Rick Viers, on going to Bristol with Ickler: "Going to Bristol is always exciting and taking Brian [Ickler] there for his first race will be a great opportunity for him and our race team. I think he will adapt quickly to the track. We will have to work quickly through a couple of spring packages and set ups to see what feels the best for him. Also, we have a new tire for Bristol to learn about during our only practice session on Friday."
