The Equipment... The Phillips 66 team will compete with "Brutus" this weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway. "Brutus" made its last appearance at Kansas Speedway in September, finishing 29th.
Been There Before... Mears competed at Atlanta Motor Speedway in 2001 while driving in the Indy Racing League. Mears was involved in an 11 car accident and finished 23rd.
Casey Mears' Thoughts On Atlanta In A Stock Car vs. Indy Car... "Running Atlanta in a stock car is very different from an Indy Car. The track is much more challenging in a stock car. It's easy to hold it wide open and go 200 mph in an Indy Car, but in a stock car there's much more going on with the car. It's a new experience altogether."
Casey Mears' Thoughts On The Team's Recent Test At Atlanta... "The test in Atlanta two weeks ago was productive. The temperatures were warm, so I'm not sure how much information we'll be able to use from the test if temperatures are cooler. We had a very good car at Charlotte a couple of weeks ago and we may be able to transfer some of what we learned at Charlotte over to Atlanta. Either way I don't expect us to be very far off."
