BUSCH: Chaffin Darlington preview

Chad Chaffin, driver of the No. 25 Marines Chevrolet Monte Carlo made his first and only Darlington Raceway appearance one year ago. Chaffin qualified for last years spring race 15th. He managed to stay on the lead lap all day, finishing 24th as the checkered flag fell. An impressive feat, considering Darlington has claimed quite a bit of sheet metal and also shows off some pretty impressive stripes on her walls from past races.

Chaffin may not have much experience at the track that's considered "To tough to tame", but his crew chief, Greg Ely and Team Rensi Motorsports do. They have raced in previous Busch Series races and had respectable finishes. Everyone involved in the Marines Team feel that the car and setup for Darlington will work well and be competitive come race day.

"I'm really excited about running at Darlington. Team Rensi ran good there last year and my finish was pretty good too. I only ran the spring race and finished 24th after a pretty good qualifying effort. Finishing 24th doesn't sound impressive, but I was on the lead lap and doing that at Darlington is a bonus. The race was so competitive that the guy who finished 10th was only about 300 yards ahead of me. It's a tricky track and will definitely create quite a challenge for the Marines team. I know the car will be set up to my liking and hopefully we'll have a good run."
