GREG BIFFLE-60-Grainger Ford Taurus (Finished 2nd)

DID YOU THINK THAT IF JEFF GREEN DIDN'T GET SUCH A BIG JUMP ON THE LAST RESTART THAT YOU COULD HAVE PASSED HIM?

"Yeah, definitely. I'm not sure how he got that good a start on the restart, he had about 15 car lengths going into turn 1, but it's the leader's job to start the race, and maybe the guys didn't go in time. They left me a hole in the top side, so that was good. I got going really good with new tires, and, obviously, a quarter of a lap and I'd been able to get beside him. I just did everything I could. The Grainger Ford ran really good today. We did everything we needed to do. Our pit stops were a lot better today, but we were a little late on the green-flag stop; we were certainly trying to get better and work on it. We didn't lose any tires and had to go to the back, so we're excited about that. I just wanted to race Jeff clean and I could have drove into the corner down there in 3 and 4 and got under him a little bit, but I just thought I would try the high side. It stuck down there when I passed the car before and thought I would be able to get by him. I just couldn't quite get in the gas as soon as I wanted. I'm just really happy to come back and finish second."

WHAT POSITION WERE YOU IN WHEN YOU ELECTED TO TAKE TIRES ON THE LAST STOP?

"Second. I was right behind Green, so I would have restarted right behind him. I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to be able to pass him because everybody had equal tires. I was catching him, maybe just a little bit, but didn't think that I'd be able to do anything with him. They told us that there were seven cars on the lead lap, and there ended up being 10. I figured that a couple of guys would have ended up coming with me because Junior did it in The Winston. The new tires here are just spectacular. I figured that a couple of guys would have come, but nobody came. If he wouldn't got that jump or a couple of guys might have come, we would have got him."

TALK ABOUT THE HIT YOU TOOK LAST WEEK, HOW YOU'RE FEELING TODAY AND HOW HOT IT WAS.

"Remarkably, I felt pretty good on Monday. On Monday, I felt relatively good considering. I was really sore about everywhere. My guts hurt, my stomach hurt from the hit. My very bottom rib was a little bit sore and my shoulder was really sore, and I got all different colors of skin on the inside of my elbow, about six inches up and down my arm where it hit the outside of the seat. It was a pretty severe crash there; it was probably the worst that I have been in, and I think it's the worst that NASCAR has recorded so far. Yesterday when I showed up to the track, I felt great and I got in the car and none of my sore spots touched anything. I practiced all day and when I started going home, my ribs started hurting, and then last night, I don't know what I did, but I had a hard time sleeping and my ribs are really sore today. I must have cracked a rib or something. I must have had a cracked rib and it was not moved or anything, but when I got back in the race car yesterday, it obviously flared up or something, or something has moved in there. I struggled a little bit today, and my helmet blower quit on the first caution, about lap 30. I ran the whole day with no helmet blower and my visor open, so I'm about ready to pass out."
