"At the start of the race we had to give up our 26th starting position and drop to the back of the pack since we missed the drivers meeting on Saturday," said Bingham. "Jay Robinson wanted us to run a little conservative and keep the tires on the car since this track has a reputation of eating up tires.

"The sand in the asphalt makes this track very abrasive. On Friday, during our happy hour practice, we brushed the wall and by the time the car was repaired, happy hour was over. So we really did not know what we had when we began the race. The car was loose at the beginning of the run. Once we got rolling we started moving up and passing cars, until the first caution. We took on 4 tires and fuel. We started working our way back to the front.

"On our third pit stop, we had a lug nut jam and it cost us a lap. We ran well for quite a while, fighting our way back into the top 20, when we encountered a shock failure around lap 110 of the 147. By the time the crew could get a shock out of the hauler, (which is on the backstretch by turn 3) we lost 10 more laps.

"It was a difficult weekend. The crew did a good job under adverse conditions. We're happy with the outcome of the Tim Hayes #49 Ford Taurus ending up with a 26th place finish. We look forward to coming back in the fall. We felt we had a car capable of finishing between 13th-18th.

"The seat time here this weekend will help me immensely for the fall race where we should improve our finish. We will pack up and head to Bristol next week and see what we can do there."

Key Statistics:
* 26th place Starting Position
* 26th place finish
* 34th place in the Points
* Gaining 6 positions in the points
* 3rd in the Rookie of the Year Standings
