STEVE WALLACE PACES FINAL BUSCH SERIES PRACTICE AT DARLINGTON
DARLINGTON, SC (May 10, 2007)--RWI Racing cars have led over 25% of the combined laps in the past three races at Darlington and if Thursday's final practice for Friday night's Diamond Hill Plywood 200 is any indication, that trend may very well continue. 19 year-old RWI Racing driver, Steve Wallace led the Thursday "happy hour" session, with a lap of 30.240 seconds (162.619 MPH) in the No. 66 HomeLife Communities Dodge Charger. Wallace's fastest lap was his first of the final session.
Joe Gibbs Racing's Aric Almirola was second fastest, followed by Stephen Leicht, Todd Kleuver and Ryan Newman. NEXTEL Cup Series drivers David Ragan, Paul Menard, Denny Hamlin, Casey Mears and Carl Edwards rounded out the top-ten.
Noted Wallace, "My guys have given me a great car this weekend. We unloaded pretty close on the setup this afternoon and that sure makes the weekend a lot easier. Our cars have always been pretty good at Darlington, so if we can manage to "race the racetrack" and not get too many of those Darlington stripes, I really think we have a car capable of a top-ten finish tomorrow, if not a lot better."
Friday night's Diamond Hill Plywood 200 from Darlington Raceway is set for an 8:30 PM Eastern start. The race features live television coverage by espn2 starting at 8:00 PM Eastern, as well as live radio coverage by MRN Radio.
