HARRISBURG, NC - Innovative Motorsports team owner George deBidart has named Darrell Terry as crew chief for the #48 Goulds Pumps Chevrolet driven by Mike McLaughlin. Terry joins Innovative Motorsports after three successful seasons as the chassis specialist for Reiser Enterprises and driver Matt Kenseth.
Team owner deBidart and McLaughlin are counting on Terry's chassis knowledge and leadership skills to lead their charge to the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series championship.
"We feel real fortunate to have Darrell join our organization," deBidart said. "Darrell was very instrumental in Matt Kenseth's success in the Busch Series and we feel like he is the right person we need to succeed."
Terry will oversee the development of the team from the ground up. Construction is underway on seven new Chevrolet Monte Carlos.
"I am real excited to be here at Innovative Motorsports," Terry said. I believe we have a ton of potential, the best of equipment, and the best driver. I believe we are going to win some races for Goulds Pumps next season."
Terry and McLaughlin will have the benefit of a teammate in 2000. Hermie Sadler will drive the #30 Little Trees Chevrolet for Innovative Motorsports. Sadler and his crew chief, Mike Greci hope to form a successful two-car team with McLaughlin and Terry in 2000.
After 3 months of hard work building the Goulds Pumps Chevrolet's McLaughlin and Terry will take the green flag in Daytona Beach on February 19th. The race will mark the debut for both Terry and McLaughlin at Innovative Motorsports.
