DAVID GREEN North Carolina Motor Speedway NASCAR Busch Series Notes & Quotes

On racing at North Carolina Motor Speedway..."‘The Rock' has always been a special place to me," explained Green, driver of the No. 36 Stanley Pontiac. "In the fall of 1994, was the last race of the season, I sat on the pole and won the 1994 championship."

The No. 36 Stanley Pontiac Green will drive at North Carolina Motor Speedway is the same car he drove to an 11th-place finish at Darlington Raceway in September. It is also the same car that won at California Speedway in 1997 and raced at Dover earlier this year.

The Stanley team took a car to Detroit last week to spend some time in the wind tunnel. "The test went really well and was a worthwhile experience," explained Clyde McLeod, team manager for Team 34. "Based on what we learned, we made some changes to the car we're racing this weekend at Rockingham."

David Green fast fact of the week...Green sat on the pole at Rockingham in October of 1994 and February of 1995. He set the track qualifying record on October 10, 1994, with a speed of 153.419 mph/23.864 seconds. The record still holds today.
