SHANE HMIEL QUALIFIES WINFUEL CHEVY 13th FOR DAYTONA

DAYTONA BEACH, FL (Feb. 18, 2005) -- Shane Hmiel laid down a solid qualifying lap to place the WINFUEL Chevrolet 13th on the starting grid for Saturday's "Hershey's TAKE 5 300". During Friday afternoon's qualifying session, under cool and windy conditions, Hmiel paced the Daytona International Raceway in 49.755 seconds, at a speed of 180.886 mph.

"That was the first qualifying run that we've made since we've been down here, " Shane Hmiel said. "We have really been concentrating on drafting and making the car run good in the race setup. To be this good in qualifying, shows how good this WINFUEL team really is."

"We came down here with the DEI motors and now we're ready to race our way to a win," Hmiel said. "I plan on pushing guys to the front all day long, and then we'll race the last thirty miles or so."

Shane Hmiel and the WINFUEL team will be pushing their way to the front this Saturday in the "Hershey's TAKE 5 300" at Daytona International Raceway. TV coverage begins live on FOX at 1 p.m. EST.
