WINFUEL TEAM ENDURES TOUGH WEEKEND, HORNADAY JR. FINISHES 37th AT DOVER

DOVER, DE (June 4, 2005) -- It goes without saying that the WINFUEL/Braun Racing team endured a tough weekend in Dover, DE. Thursday started off on a positive note as the #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet unloaded fast and was second on the time sheet at the end of the first practice.

Just before the second and final practice session, NASCAR officials informed team owner Todd Braun that driver Shane Hmiel had been indefinitely suspended from NASCAR and he needed to find a driver for the #32 WINFUEL Chevy. Braun Racing turned to two-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck series champion Ron Hornaday Jr. to finish out the weekend in Dover.

Ron Hornaday Jr. was able to get in a few laps of practice in the #32 WINFUEL Chevrolet before the end of practice in order to get comfortable with the car. Qualifying was cancelled on Friday due to rainy conditions and the starting line-up was determined by owner's points, which left the #32 starting 19th on the grid for Saturday's MBNA "Race Points" 200.

At the start of Saturday's race, Hornaday was able to work his way up to 13th before the first caution on lap 26. During the second restart of the day on lap 41, Hornaday made slight contact with the #90 causing right front fender damage to the #32 WINFUEL Chevy. A much needed caution on lap 58, allowed the WINFUEL team to bring Hornaday down pit road to repair the damage to the fender.

Throughout the race, the WINFUEL team continued to work to improve the handling of the car and Hornaday continued to battle his way to the front, until an incident with the #14 on lap 137 ended their day. The #14 was slow on the outside and Hornaday tried to pass to the inside coming out of turn 4, when he was tapped by the #14 in the right rear and sent spinning into the outside wall. The damaged sustained was enough to park the WINFUEL Chevrolet for the day, resulting in a disappointing 37th place finish.

"It's disappointing that the slow car got into us as we were trying to get around him," Hornaday said. "The WINFUEL guys gave me a good car today and we were working our way to the front for a good finish. I want to thank Todd Braun and everyone at Braun Racing for giving me the opportunity to drive the #32 WINFUEL Chevy today, and I want to thank my #6 GM Goodwrech truck owners, Kevin and DeLana Harvick, for allowing me to do it. I have a lot of good friends at Braun Racing and I was happy to have the opportunity to help them out, hopefully next time we can bring home a better finish."

The #32 WINFUEL/Braun Racing team will be in the "Music City" this coming weekend to compete in the Federated Auto Parts 300 at the Nashville Superspeedway. Live coverage of the event beings this Saturday, June 11 on FX at 7:30 pm ET.
