NAZARETH, PA - Ron Hornaday, driving the No. 2 RCR Chevy, claimed his first win this season, third of his career and his second at Nazareth Speedway in the Goulds Pump ITT Industries 200. Hornaday dominated the field, leading 148 of 200 laps. Hornaday joins Tim Fedewa as the only two-time winner at Nazareth.
"This is a great team, they believe in me," said Hornaday. "This car was too good to drive. It's a lot of fun."
Hornaday held off the rapidly gaining No. 5 Hendrick Chevy of Brian Vickers in the closing laps for the victory. Vickers placed second.
"We almost got one," said Vickers. "We're building there, we're doing what we need to do every week for the points. The car just got so tight when I got behind people."
"We'll get them next week."
The 2002 Craftsman Truck series champ Mike Bliss came home third.
"These guys are doing a great job," said Bliss. "Every week this Rockwell Automation Chevy is running top five, we really only had one bad run which was Richmond. It was good today, we got a little tight and the driver did a little error in turn three and Vickers got by me.
"You know it's going to happen (the first win) these guys work really hard and I am just excited. I can't get frustrated cause I am running good.everybody's excited.
Championship points leader David Green scored fourth.
"Brand new car here," said Green. "Hadn't been run since last year, guys really did a great job again during the course of the race.a good day for us."
Todd Bodine was fifth.
"The car was awesome all day," commented Bodine. "My guys are awesome. Pit road they picked up about six spots on that last stop, and that was the biggest difference. We probably would of ended up seventh or eighth if we had to pass all those cars. So, they got us a bunch in the pits.
"Everything went right.the car was really good at the end. We did everything right, came out fifth. Without a scratch, well -- we got a couple of scratches but that's Nazareth. I love this place."
Green sits just ten points ahead of second place Bodine. Ron Hornaday jumps three places to third, followed by Shame Hmiel and Scott Riggs.
