THE LOWDOWN
* THE STORY: This weekend, Steve Wallace and Team HomeLife Communities heads to historic Indianapolis for the 22nd round of the 2007 NASCAR Busch Series championship. Over the years, the city of Indianapolis has been very kind to aggressive drivers named Wallace and Steve is determined to follow along that path. Rusty Wallace, RWI Racing team owner and Steve's father, had a stellar career at the "other" speedway in Indy. Rusty posted five top-five finishes, nine top-tens, 148 laps led and an average finish of 10.25 in 12 career races at the Brickyard (See page two for more on Rusty at Indy). At O'Reilly Raceway Park in 2005, Steve's uncle, Mike Wallace, got behind the wheel of RWI's then-No.64 Dodge and steered the machine to a top ten finish.
* THE MACHINES: The youngest Wallace wheelman is hoping to make his own history this weekend from behind the wheel of RWI-005. The "5 car" has two starts thus far in 2007, at Milwaukee and Richmond. At Milwaukee, the RWI entry was strong, but loose lug nuts forced Wallace to pit road under green early in the race. Steve fought valiantly to overcome this deficit and managed to power by leader Carl Edwards and regain, on the racetrack under green conditions, one of his several laps lost in the pit stop sequence.
* THE MAN AT ORP: Steve Wallace has only one career start at ORP. In 2006, he wheeled RWI's Jasper Engines and Transmissions Dodge to a 26th-place starting position. Unfortunately, pit road problems and a tap from Ted Musgrave ended Wallace's chances for a top-ten finish. Through all of the adversity, however, the young driver was able to maintain composure, run one of the race's fastest laps and finish the race just one lap down to the leaders.

"Any time you race in Indianapolis, no matter which track, it's always something special. That town eats, sleeps and breathes racing and there's just always so much excitement and buzz around the racing going on at both tracks during this weekend. I feel like our short track and flat track programs showed some good improvement at New Hampshire and Milwaukee, so I'm excited about seeing how much better we can get this weekend in Indy. It's a very important weekend for a lot of our sponsors, including Jasper, Bar-S and as always, HomeLife Communities, so I'm really looking forward to having a great run for them on Saturday night."
