Conyers, GA (Wednesday June 11th, 2003) - - Ron Young and the RB1 Motorsports Team hope to bounce back from a disappointing run last weekend in Nashville, where several on track altercations kept Young from the first top ten finish of his NASCAR Busch Series career.

"I really feel that if I would not have gotten punted early in the race, that we would have scored a top ten finish," Young said. "In that one lap, I could immediately tell that we had a good car, as I was passing them left and right and then all heck broke loose," he added.

A spin on lap two after contact with Lance Norick sent the No. 71 into the wall between turns three and four. While the damage was not severe, it was enough to disrupt the run and effect the handling of the car.

His night would become more exciting approaching lap 42 as the cars of Brad Teague and Joe Buford made contact in front of him, causing him to take quick actions to avoid the accident. Young would not be fortunate, as Teague car would slide down the track and make contact with the passenger side of the car.

Young faced yet another challenge as Virginia native Jason White made contact with the quarter panel of the car sending Young yet again spinning wildly, thankfully, without making contact with the wall.

Despite the problems on the track, Ron crossed the line 22nd after starting 31st. "I'm looking forward to putting Nashville behind us and head to Kentucky."

The former competitor in the NASCAR All-Pro series mentioned, "If we can walk out of Kentucky with a good top-15 run, I'll be pleased. This RB1 Motorsports crew continues to work around the clock, and I greatly appreciate all the work that they do."

The goal does not change from week to week for the former Go-Kart winner. "We have to unload and give 150% the entire weekend, because the series continues to get tougher and tougher, and if your not on your game, it could be the difference between racing or going home," he said.

At this point, the team will head to the track once again without a sponsor. "We still don't have a sponsor, but we're heading to the track to prove that we are the real deal, we do the best we can with what we've got, and we hope to have something lined up soon," said Ron.

The 16th race of the 2003 NASCAR Busch series season will take place at Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, KY this weekend. The Meijer 300 is set for Saturday June 14th, with live coverage on both FX and MRN radio beginning at 7:30pm EST.
