Notes & Quotes
A First... This weekend's Busch 200 will mark the first time Casey Mears has competed at New Hampshire International Speedway. The 24-year-old made the switch to stock cars this season after spending the previous five seasons in the open-wheel ranks, much like his dad and uncle.
Casey Mears' Thoughts On New Hampshire International Speedway... "There are going to be tracks this season that I haven't been to before and New Hampshire is one of them. I'm going to have to rely upon my team's notes from past races at New Hampshire and what we've already learned this year about the Dodge Intrepid. So far we've been able to get up to speed quickly at most tracks this year."
The Equipment... "Chumley" is the car the Phillips 66 team will compete with this weekend in the "Busch 200" at New Hampshire International Speedway. "Chumley" is the same car the Phillips 66 team raced last weekend at Richmond.
Local Ties... Phillips 66 team member John Kowalski grew up and currently resides in Henniker, NH. Kowalski is the catch-can man for the No. 66 Phillips 66 Dodge on race day. Several other Phillips 66 team members also have ties to the northeast including team owner Scott Welliver (Elmira, NY), tire specialist Jeff Zarella (Southington, CT), team manager Clyde McLeod (Berlin, CT), gasman Michael Murphy (Manchester, CT) and front-tire carrier Graham Wheeler (Bethel, ME).
