Birmingham Automobile Dealers 500K Contact: Craig Bailey April 24-26, 1997 (704) 375-8587 Talladega, Alabama BrewcoMS@aol.com Mark Green/Timber Wolf Racing Notes
Mark Green competes at the Talladega SuperSpeedway for the first time in the Birmingham Automobile Dealers 500K. The Owensboro, Kentucky resident has one career superspeedway start (Daytona 2/15/97) and finished eighth, scoring a career best finish. "We tested Talladega in January before we raced at Daytona," said Green. "The car we are using here is the same one we finished eighth in Daytona with. This is a great drafting car. While many teams were working to rebuild their speedway cars after Daytona, we had the luxury of fine tuning ours."
Like many of the Busch Series competitors, Mark Green is looking forward to spending next weekend away from the race track. "(Team owner) Clarence (Brewer) has a cabin near Greenville, Kentucky and the entire team is going fishing on the nearby lake," said Green. "I'm also going to spend some time with the family and attend a few of my kid's soccer games." Following the Birmingham Automobile Dealers 500K, the Busch Series will enjoy the first weekend away from the race track since the 1997 season began on February 15.
Discount Food Mart, headquartered in Fort Payne, Alabama, is an associate sponsor on the No. 37 Timber Wolf Chevrolet for the Birmingham Automobile Dealers 500K.
