Ryan Newman turned the fastest lap at Dover International Speedway to gain the Bud pole for the Dover 200. Newman scored his second pole in just six starts in the Busch series this season.

"That was a good lap for us," Newman said. "It is a great car and we should be good here tomorrow. I really like this track, I am looking forward to the race."

Newman's lap of 156.420 mph smoked the rest of the grid by nearly a full mile-per-hour.

Point leader Martin Truex, Jr. will join Newman on the front row. He will start the No. 8 Chevy from the outside pole with a lap of 155.682 mph.

"I am really excited about tomorrow," said Truex. "Usually I don't get in here until after the race, this is our best qualifying spot here. It feels good to qualify that well, I think we have a shot here tomorrow.

"This car has been real good to us, we ran it at Bristol and we ran it here last year. It's won a few races and I really like it a lot."

Reed Sorenson will take the green flag from third. Sorenson posted a lap of 155.166 mph.

"The car was a little loose but I think that is a good thing for tomorrow, for the race," said Sorenson. "I was holding my breathe.the car has been pretty good all weekend.I am really happy with it.

"I like racing here, it's really fast. It's probably the funnest place that we come and qualify."

JJ Yeley and Clint Bowyer complete the top five. Bowyer currently trails Truex by just 69 points in the series championship.

"I believe we can beat him from here on out," Bowyer said. "All the tracks remaining we have been to. Hopefully we can stay in front of him and lead some laps.

"The points [Truex] is ahead of us with are bonus points and that is something we didn't take care of at the beginning of the year. We just weren't quite there yet as a team, but now we are running toward the front each week and that is what helps win championships."

Notably, Erin Crocker qualified ninth.
