JORGE GOETERS, #32 BRAUN RACING TEAM PRODUCE SOLID 24th PLACE RUN AT PIKES PEAK

FOUNTAIN, CO (July 24, 2005) -- When Jorge Goeters took the green flag at the start of this weekend's Salute to the Troops 250 at Pikes Peak International Raceway, it marked only his second start in NASCAR Busch Series competition and his first oval track event. Goeters, an accomplished driver in many auto racing circuits, gained valuable experience throughout the weekend, and he managed to bring the #32 Canel's / Scotiabank Inverlat Chevrolet across the finish line in 24th position.

"I learned so much about the car every time that I went on the track this weekend," Jorge said. "I have driven oval track races before, but never at speeds this fast. It is very different driving a stock car on an oval track, than it is to drive one on a road course. The more time I spent in the car, the more that I learned what I could do with it and how far I could push it."

On Friday, Jorge got his first opportunity to get familiar with the #32 Canel's / Scotiabank Inverlat Chevrolet during the morning practice sessions. Each time out on the track, Jorge improved his lap times as he began to become familiar with the Braun Racing car. The #32 was the first car out on the track in the afternoon qualifying session, and Goeters paced the track in 27.861 seconds at a speed of 129.213 mph, which was good enough to place him 40th on the starting grid for Saturday's race.

"I was a little disappointed with the qualifying time because I knew the car could run faster," Goeters explained. "We ran times faster than that during the practice sessions, but I am really here to gain experience and learn more about the car, so I am looking forward to doing that during the race."

After taking the green flag on Saturday afternoon, Goeters was able to work is way into the top-25 by getting into a rhythm and running consistent lap times. Throughout the event, Jorge fought loose conditions with the #32 Chevy and he continued to work on the car with his Braun Racing team. Although they ended up finishing two-laps down to eventual race winner #27 David Green, Jorge Goeters and the Braun Racing team gained valuable knowledge and experience that will help them prepare for the upcoming race at Watkins Glen International.

"I cannot tell you how much I learned during the race today," Jorge said. "Since I drove my first NASCAR Busch race in Mexico, I have been hoping that I would get another opportunity to drive these stock cars. I want to thank Todd Braun and the entire Braun Racing team for giving me the opportunity to work with them. NASCAR racing is the highest-level of competition, and I hope to continue competing in these races in the future."

Mexico City native Jorge Goeters will again be behind the wheel of the #32 Braun Racing Chevrolet in the Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International on August 13th.

"I am very much looking forward to driving the #32 Canel's / Scotiabank Inverlat Chevrolet car in a few weeks at Watkins Glen," Goeters said. "I am going to do some testing and run a Grand Am race there before the Busch race, so I will be very familiar with the course. Hopefully, I can have as much success with Braun Racing at Watkins Glen as I did with Brewco Motorsports in Mexico City, but this time I want to win the race and the pole."

This coming weekend the Braun Racing team will be in St. Louis, Missouri to compete at Gateway International Raceway. Live coverage of the Wallace Family Tribute 250 presented by Shop 'n Save begins this Saturday, July 30 at 8:00 p.m. ET on TNT.
