Notes & Quotes
Testing,Testing... The Phillips 66 team spent two days testing at Richmond International Raceway two weeks ago in preparation for the Hardee's 250. The team is scheduled to test at Lowe's Motor Speedway on May 6-7 during the NASCAR Busch Series open test session.

Casey Mears' Thoughts On Richmond International Raceway... "Knowing how well our test at Richmond went two weeks ago, I'm excited to get back there. It's probably the most excited I've been about going back to a track this season. Hopefully we can stay out of trouble because I think our chances are good to have a really strong race."

The Equipment... "Chumley" is the car the Phillips 66 team will compete with this weekend in the "Hardee's 250" at Richmond International Raceway. The Phillips 66 team will compete with somewhat of a new car this weekend in Richmond. The team fitted a new Dodge Intrepid body onto a chassis that was used during the 2001 season. Friday's Hardee's 250 will mark the 2002 debut for this car.

Crew Chief Donnie Richeson's Thoughts On Racing At Richmond... "You don't notice it as much on the larger tracks, but the front straightaway at Richmond is really round and it makes the frontstretch extremely long. You carry a lot of speed down the front straightaway and the corner really tightens up at the exit of turn two. You really need to have your car turning well down in the middle of the corner so you can exit turn two strong. Selecting the right gear is also important at Richmond because the better you can exit turn two, the quicker you will be down the backstretch."
