HUFFMAN AIMING FOR TOP-10 FINISH AT SITE OF FIRST BUSCH SERIES START

* Driving the No. 88 Navy Chevrolet, Shane Huffman will return to the site of his first-ever start in the NASCAR Busch Series this Friday when he competes in the Circuit City 250 at Richmond International Raceway.

* Huffman made his first Busch Series start at RIR in 2001. Friday's race will be his third start at the track. In his previous two attempts he has scored an average finish of 23rd.

* JR Motorsports also has two previous starts at RIR. Huffman's 22nd-place finish there last fall marked the team's best result at the 0.75-mile track.

* JR Motorsports' No. 88 Navy team is bringing chassis No. JRM 021 to Richmond this weekend. This is the same car Huffman drove to a top-five finish last fall at Memphis Motorsports Park.

* Ten races into the 2007 season, the JR Motorsports team has compiled two top-10 finishes and led 28 laps. Huffman is currently ranked 17th in the driver point standings and the No. 88 team sits 25th in the owner point standings.

* After a couple rough weeks, Huffman got the Navy team headed back in the right direction last weekend with a 15th-place finish at Talladega Superspeedway. He started the race from 36th and successfully maneuvered his way through several crashes to score his first top-20 finish in three weeks.

What are you looking forward to this weekend at Richmond?

"Richmond is a pretty cool track. It's short-track racing under the lights, which is what I started off doing back in my limited and late model days. The competition is always tight there.

"I made my first Busch start at Richmond, so it holds a special memory for me. I can't wait to get back there in my Navy Chevrolet and get a good run for the JR Motorsports team. We've had a rough couple of weeks here lately and I'm ready to get us back on track and running in the top 10 again.

"Our Pro Cup team is racing at Shenandoah Speedway on Thursday, and I think a bunch of us are going to get together and drive up for it. Those guys always put on a great show and Richard (Boswell, JRM's driver in that series) has had a few good runs so far this year. Their schedule doesn't often work out with ours, so it'll be nice to have a chance to see him race."

Navy Notables

The fleet honoree for Friday's race at Richmond is the USS Constitution. The USS Constitution is the oldest commissioned warship afloat in the world. Affectionately known as "Old Ironsides," the USS Constitution was commissioned in 1797 in Boston Harbor, where she remains today. The 44-gun frigate was victorious in each of her 33 battles at sea. The officers and crew of the USS Constitution are charged to preserve, protect and promote the ship. This responsibility brings with it the obligation to foster a healthy civil-military relationship through active participation in sailing and public events around America and limited underway sail demonstrations. The crew often participates in "Old Ironsides Across the Nation," an outreach program put on by the USS Constitution Museum where they share the history of the ship with school children and the public by going on school classroom visits and conducting gun drills.
