Mooresville, NC (March 28, 2001) - Shawna Robinson is no stranger to making debuts in racing. Her debut in this weekend's Jani-King 300 at Texas Motor Speedway is the first of three races with Michael Waltrip Racing and the No. 99 Aaron's "Dream Machine." According to Robinson, "Texas is the type of track I like and am very comfortable. That is why Michael and I chose Texas to be my first race in the No. 99 Aaron's 'Dream Machine'. I am very excited about getting into a top quality car."

Robinson is excited to race at Texas because of her past experience on 1.5-mile tracks. Robinson placed no worse than 13th in last year's ARCA RE/MAX races on 1.5 mile tracks. "Texas is a very fast track, once I shake the car down and get some seat time, I will be very comfortable in the car. I just need to familiarize myself with the track," stated Robinson.

Robinson took a test drive at Texas Motor Speedway in a driving school car last week for about thirty minutes. "I was able to take a few laps to learn the track. Now I am not going to the track unfamiliar with at least knowing the groove around the track."

Robinson talked about the difference between the Busch cars of today from 1994 when she last competed in a Busch car. Robinson stated, "In the early 1990is, the Busch cars were very different from Winston Cup cars, but today they are more similar. The similarity in ARCA cars and Winston Cup cars are very comparable, that is why I chose to race in that series. Since NASCAR changed the carburetor rules, the Busch cars now have more horsepower and are just a tick off of a Winston Cup car. I should now be able to drive the car into the corners harder than before, which will help me adjust to the Busch cars even quicker."

Robinson talked to team owner and Daytona 500 winner Michael Waltrip for advice going to the Texas Motor Speedway. "Michael told me there is no pressure. Just run like you would at any other racetrack. The biggest thing will be getting the car to handle where you are comfortable. The crew will work with you and we are going with some pretty good notes and a good set-up from crew chief Bobby Kennedy."

Bud Pole qualifying for the Jani-King 300 takes place on Thursday, March 29th at 3:30 p.m. (CST). The event starts at 12:30 p.m. (EST) on Saturday, March 31st and will be televised live on FOX. PRN radio will air live at 1:00 p.m. (EST).
