Elliott Sadler and the Phillips 66 Performance Racing Team are hoping to make it back to familiar territory this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. The familiar territory is victory lane at the .533-mile oval. Sadler will be making his fifth start at the track where he captured his lone win thus far in the 1998 NASCAR Busch Series schedule. Sadler will be trying to accomplish a feat that Steve Grissom did in 1995 by sweeping both events at Bristol Motor Speedway in 1998. Grissom accomplished this task in 1995 while driving the No. 29 Chevrolet for Diamond Ridge Motorsports.

"I am hoping that will be a good omen for us this weekend," Sadler said in reference to Grissom's accomplishment. "We haven't had great luck this season and actually, we were kind of surprised at our success at Bristol in March. We went into that event just hoping for a top-10 finish and walked away with a win."

With the win and third-place starting position, Sadler put on his best performance to date at Bristol Motor Speedway. While Sadler considers Bristol one of his favorite tracks, he says it can be intimidating. Sadler says he has been brushing up on his Bristol racing skills using his home computer.

"Wrecks are going to happen at Bristol, it just can't be avoided," Sadler said. "You have to be on your toes for anything to happen and you have to be real patient. I love racing there because it is just a fun race track. Something that has really helped me a lot is the NASCAR Racing II game on the computer because it is so realistic."

To help out in their Bristol Motor Speedway sweep campaign, the Phillips 66 Performance Racing Team will be racing the same car they won with in March.

In addition to his Busch Series duties this weekend, Sadler will be making his second attempt at Winston Cup racing in 1998. After making his debut at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Sadler and Diamond Ridge Motorsports will try to make the 43-car field for the Goody's Headache Powder 500 NASCAR Winston Cup race in the No. 92 Chevrolet.
