WALLACE HOPING FOR HOMETOWN VICTORY AT THE WALLACE FAMILY TRIBUTE 250 AT GATEWAY INTERNATIONAL RACEWAY

Event Set to Honor Wallace Family as the First Family of Racing in St. Louis

Mooresville, NC (July 25, 2005) - If there is one thing that Mike Wallace would love to add to his resume it would be a NASCAR Busch Series win at Gateway International Raceway in his hometown of St. Louis, MO. You could say it has been a lifelong dream for Wallace. However, to win in this year's event in particular at his home track would make achieving that dream even more special.

Gateway International Raceway has dedicated the name of this year's event to the Wallace family by naming it the Wallace Family Tribute 250. Wallace will be joined by his brothers, Kenny and Rusty, as the track salutes the First Family of Racing in St. Louis. It will be the first time in history that all three Wallace brothers will be running against each other in a major NASCAR event in their hometown.

Wallace, who will be driving the No. 6 Ragu® Dodge for Evernham Motorsports, said that his entire family feels very honored to be recognized by their hometown.

"I would just like to thank Gateway for doing this and honoring our family in this way," stated Wallace. "This is a huge tribute and I speak for my brothers when I say that we are all truly honored. This is going to a very special weekend for all of us and very emotional as this will be the last time the three of us get to race together."

The track has truly made the event weekend a family affair that pays tribute to all three Wallace brothers as well as their parents, Judy and Russ.

* On Thursday, July 28th, Mike and brother, Kenny, will attend St. Louis Ram's training camp to meet with players and local media.

* On Friday, July 29th at 3pm, Gateway International Raceway will dedicate the grandstand in Turns 1 and 2 in honor of the entire Wallace family. Fans and media are invited to the ceremony, which will take place in the Brown South Parking area.

* On Saturday, July 30th, Judy and Russ Wallace will serve as Grand Marshall's of the Wallace Family Tribute 250.

Wallace views the weekend as one of celebration.

"Rusty's racing career is slowly coming to its end and I think it is very appropriate that we have a chance to celebrate it in our home town of St. Louis. This gives all of us a chance to say thank you to St. Louis for supporting us. My hope is that at the end of the night fans will see the three of us fighting it out for the win. Of course, I expect to be the one standing in victory lane once the dust has settled."

Mike Wallace is the middle brother of the Wallace family racers and has won on almost every kind of track you can drive on. He has over 300 short track wins and has Busch Series wins at IRP, Dover, Martinsville and Milwaukee. He added to that list in 2004 when he took the checkered flag in the Winn-Dixie 250 at Daytona International Speedway on July 2.

Currently, Wallace competes full time in the NASCAR Nextel Cup Series No. 4 entry owned by Morgan-McClure Motorsports and makes occasional starts in the NASCAR Busch Series. Wallace drove the No. 6 Hungry Drivers Dodge earlier in the season at Bristol Motor Speedway and Daytona International Speedway.
