Round Two- Last year's event at the Memphis Motorsports Park was the site of Lyndon Amick's "official" return to the driver's seat of the No. 35 Team Amick Chevrolet. After a disappointing start to the 1999 season, Amick elected to step aside for a seven-race stretch during the middle of last year.

Team Amick called upon NASCAR veterans Mike Bliss and Elliott Sadler to come in and evaluate the team's equipment. Both drivers struggled, scoring only one top-10 finish in seven events, and it was decided that the team's equipment could stand some improvement. When Amick got a second chance in the No. 35, he made the most of it, turning the fastest lap in the first practice session of the weekend at Memphis Motorsports Park. Amick then backed up that impressive performance by finishing 10th in the 1999 Sam's Town 250 on Halloween day.

"007" Is Back!- Lyndon Amick has never been one of those drivers who gives his cars nicknames, with one notable exception. Amick named his favorite car "007" after its first race over two years ago, when he scored his first career top-five Busch Series Grand National Division finish at Myrtle Beach Speedway. Since that time, Amick has driven "007" in roughly 15 events. As any movie buff knows, "007" is the numerical designation of British Secret Agent, James Bond. Amick is a huge James Bond fan, hence the nickname for his favorite car.

"This car has been with me a lot longer than most of the others," Amick says. "I just like the way it handles, and it really seems to fit my frame better than a lot of other cars do. This car just has a special place in my heart, and I'm looking forward to teaming up with it again at Memphis."

Look Ma, I'm on TV!- Race fans who watch ESPN, ESPN2, Speedvision or even MTV might have been surprised to see Lyndon Amick, Hank Parker, Jr., Jason Jarrett and Justin Labonte in an advertising spot that is on heavy rotation on those networks. The commercial, which the four young drivers filmed in Charlotte last month, is for "Jarrett & Labonte Stock Car Racing" (JLSCR), a new racing videogame for the Sony Playstation.

The commercial features all four drivers wielding sledgehammers and other implements of destruction as they attack two identically painted and decaled cars. The car that shows no damage represents "other" racing videogames, while the second car, which is from the JLSCR Game, bears the scars of its encounter with the drivers. The commercial explains that, while other racing games claim to be "real", no other racing game shows real damage to the cars like "Jarrett & Labonte Stock Car Racing" does. The game, which was released on October 4, is available at all major retailers, including Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Toys-R-Us.

Driver- Lyndon Amick
On Memphis- "It's a pretty neat race track. It's kind of shaped like Richmond, but a little bit tighter. There should be a lot of side-by-side racing, which I always enjoy and a lot of beating and banging, which I don't enjoy quite as much. You'll probably see a number of wrecks, so I think that qualifying near the front is going to be one of the keys to being around at the end. If you can keep from getting caught up in all the crashing back in the pack, you've got a decent shot at a top-10 finish." <pre> Lyndon Amick's Career Busch Series Statistics at Memphis Motorsports Park Year Finish Start Laps Winnings Condition 10/31/99 10 16 250 / 250 $16,625.00 RUNNING
