Looking For Another Top-10- The members of Team Amick Motorsports scored their first top-10 of the 2000 season earlier this year at "The Rock", where the No. 35 finished 10th. The team comes to Rockingham looking for their fourth top-10 finish of the year and their first since finishing ninth at the May 5 Hardee's 250 at Richmond. Since the spring Richmond event, the team has struggled, finishing in the top-20 only four times. Off-weekend?- While most of the Busch Series competitors took a well-deserved weekend off, Lyndon Amick headed to the high banks of Talladega Superspeedway. Amick drove the No. 99, owned by Winston Cup veteran Ken Schrader, in last Saturday's ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America) race. Starting 8th, Amick led five laps in the middle of the event, but fell back to 7th as the checkered flag dropped.
"We definitely didn't have the horse to ride," said Amick. "I could keep up with the draft, but I really didn't handle too well while I was out in front. It was a great day, though. We had sponsorship on the car from POWERTEL and Mitsubishi Wireless Phones, who are the sponsors on my Busch car, and a lot of folks from POWERTEL were in the stands to cheer me on. I had a lot of fun, and that's all I can ask."
Look Ma, I'm on TV!- Race fans who watch ESPN, ESPN2, Speedvision or even MTV might have been surprised to see Lyndon Amick, Hank Parker, Jr., Jason Jarrett and Justin Labonte in an advertising spot that began airing this week. The commercial, which the four young drivers filmed in Charlotte last month, is for "Jarrett & Labonte Stock Car Racing" (JLSCR), a new racing videogame for the Sony Playstation.
The commercial features all four drivers wielding sledgehammers and other implements of destruction as they attack two identically painted and decaled cars. The car that shows no damage represents "other" racing videogames, while the second car, which is from the JLSCR Game, bears the scars of its encounter with the drivers. The commercial explains that, while other racing games claim to be "real", no other racing game shows real damage to the cars like "Jarrett & Labonte Stock Car Racing" does. The game, which was released on October 4, is available at all major retailers, including Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and Toys-R-Us.

On Rockingham- "This is another one of those tracks I really like, even though I haven't had a lot of success here before this spring. We got really lucky back in February, we were coming down pit road for service here when the caution flag came out, so we were able to get back out without going a lap down. We were one of only eight or nine cars on the lead lap at that point, and that's how we pulled off the top-10.
"The track is really rough on tires, just like Darlington, so you have to be patient and manage your tires. I've been accused of not being the most patient guy on the track, but this place will definitely help you learn how to keep yourself in check if you want to be around at the end."
