BUSCH: Tim Fedewa -- Daytona Track Notes

TIM FEDEWA NASCAR BUSCH SERIES DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY * Driver Tim Fedewa, Stanley Racing and Cicci-Welliver Racing have teamed up for a second consecutive year in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division for the 2000 season.

* Driver Tim Fedewa, Stanley Racing and Cicci-Welliver Racing have teamed up for a second consecutive year in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division for the 2000 season. Fedewa finished 14th in the final points standings last season, nabbing three top five and nine top-10 finishes. This season Fedewa returns to the track with a new crew chief, a new team, a new car and a new attitude.

"I'm definitely looking forward to a better year this year," Fedewa said. "A lot has changed for the Stanley team in the off-season, and I'm confident that the fans will see an incredible difference from last year.

"I really like the new Monte Carlos. After we've tested, I have walked away from the track with more confidence than in the past. Everything has felt real good with the car, and the new crew has been working incredibly hard during the off-season. You can see the chemistry between them when they're in the shop or practicing pit stops. We all get along real well, which is key to having a successful team and a successful year in 2000."

* The car that will compete in Daytona was built in-house by Steve Scharr. Fedewa has tested the new car at the Talladega Superspeedway twice. "The car tested real well, and we were working to get that little extra bit of speed we needed," Fedewa said. "I think we'll be up where we belong by Daytona."

* Fedewa will make his 200th Busch Series start when the green flag falls at the NAPA Auto Parts 300 on Feb. 19th. Fedewa said he couldn't think of a better race where he could mark this career milestone.

"Daytona is a great track with a lot of history," he said. "I've had some rough races there, but I always looking forward to heading down to Daytona. It's an exciting race and a good way to start the season."

The House's Filthy Clam Dip You Need: 1 jar of Old English Kraft Cheese 1 -- 8 ounce can of minced clams 1 medium onion sautéed in butter 4 tablespoons of ketchup 1 tablespoon Worchester sauce 1 tablespoon cooking sherry 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper

Instructions: Melt cheese on stove at low heat. Add sautéed onions, then all other ingredients. Let the mix simmer on stove for a bit.

Tips: The clam dip is best if served warm, and Triscuits are the best crackers for the dip. Multiplying the recipe by five will make enough dip for a small family get together.
