TIM FEDEWA CALIFORNIA SPEEDWAY MAY 1, 1999

Tim Fedewa always looks forward to going out west to California. This year he will compete in the Kenwood 300 with an excellent car and motor from Cicci-Welliver Racing. He is dreaming of putting the Stanley team in victory lane.

“I am excited about going to California,” Fedewa said. “The facility is impressive. They did not skimp at all and that is nice to be able to work with surroundings like that for the team. The track itself is short track and superspeedway mixed together, it is really a bit different than anywhere else that we go.”

The No. 36 Stanley Racing Machine that Fedewa will drive at California is the same car he qualified ninth with in Las Vegas this season. The car has run real well for Fedewa and the whole team. The Stanley team spent time putting the finishing touches on the car before it left for California on Tuesday morning. The car is named “Shania” after the country western singer Shania Twain. The car, like the singer, has racked up some hits including two top-five finishes at The Milwaukee Mile and at Myrtle Beach Speedway in the past two seasons.

Fedewa will participate in the Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America, riding his Harley-Davidson from California to Texas where he will catch a flight to his race in Loudon, N.H.
