Saturday's MBNA Platinum 200 will be Tony Roper and the Xpress Motorsports team's first visit to the concrete Dover Downs International Speedway, known as The Monster Mile. Roper's best finish this season came on another concrete track - a 10th-place finish at Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway.
"We're taking the same car that we had at Bristol," said Roper. "The track is concrete and high-banked and we're hoping that we can equal or do better than we did at Bristol. We've had a couple of tough weeks and we really need to have a solid finish at Dover."
The Monster Mile has been a part of the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division every year since the inception of the series in 1982. The MBNA Platinum 200 will be the 31st NASCAR Busch Series event held at the speedway.
Tony Roper and the Xpress Motorsports team spent Tuesday, June 1 at the .420-mile South Boston (Va.) Speedway testing for the Textilease/Medique 300 presented by Advance Auto Parts which will be contested on June 12.
