The Pikes Peak 250 will be the second effort for Tony Roper, Xpress Motorsports and the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division at the 1-mile Pikes Peak International Raceway. All three entities enjoyed success last season at the facility. Roper scored at tenth-place finish in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at the Fountain, Colo. facility last year. He spent a good portion of his day racing in the top-ten and truly enjoyed the track. Another truck in the top-ten that day at Pikes Peak was the No. 61 Xpress Motorsports truck. The Xpress entry, driven by Randy Tolsma, scored a ninth-place finish in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race last year. "We were a lot better than tenth last year," said Roper. "We were running sixth when another truck blew an engine on a late race restart. I got stuck in the scramble and went back to something like 14th. In the last couple of laps I was able to get back up to 10th. I think with my success there and this Xpress team's success there last year we should be really good."
The Pikes Peak 250 will be the second NASCAR Busch Series event at the facility after a highly successful inaugural event last year.
