NASCAR BUSCH SERIES GOING FOR THE CUP AT WATKINS GLEN INTERNATIONAL
Watkins Glen, NY - The NASCAR Busch Series is getting its own Cup.
The winner of the LYSOL 200 NASCAR Busch Series event at Watkins Glen International this weekend will receive the new "Empire Cup", speedway officials announced today.
The Empire Cup, a beautiful Silver Cup representing a new and prestigious tradition for the Lysol 200, will be presented to the winner of the each LYSOL 200 beginning with Sunday's eighth annual event. The Cup is custom engraved by Thatcher Jewelry in Watkins Glen and etched with the event logo.
"The Empire Cup is just the first of many new traditions for Watkins Glen International", said track president Bryan Sperber. "The Empire Cup will help Watkins Glen, Reckitt and Colman and its LYSOL brand, raise the status of our event. Together, LYSOL and Watkins Glen International are moving to make the LYSOL 200 one of the premier events on the NASCAR Busch Series schedule."
A custom made display case will permanently hold the Empire Cup in Watkins Glen International's Glen Club. The Cup will be accompanied by a custom engraved silver plated plaque with each winner's name and the date of the event on it.
